Market overview
Shenzhen is a tier-1 coastal southern city in China adjacent to the Pearl River Delta and directly north of Hong Kong. It has numerous natural tourism areas, which include Dameisha (大梅沙海滨公园) and Xiaomeisha (小梅沙海滨公园) beaches, Mount Wutong, the China Folk Culture Village, Window of the World, Happy Valley, OCT East and Sea World in the southernmost area of the city.

More tourism sites, fast business development, government support, and more efficient Hong Kong/Macau cross border access have resulted in a spike in tourism. As a result, the city’s hospitality industry has strengthened. According to the Shenzhen Statistics Bureau, the number of overnight visitors grew by 9.3% CAGR between 2005 and 2016, to 57 million visitors. By the end of 2016, Shenzhen received 11.7 million international overnight visitors and 45 million domestic visitors.
